It started back in the 1940's when Doris (Rice) Hamilton's and Peggy (Rice) Martin's parents, Clarence and Mildred Rice, acquired properties in Quartzsite,
Arizona. Their land included the
Tyson Well "stage stop" shown above. In 1972 Clarence and Mildred Rice donated
the building and parcel to the historical society as a site for the
Quartzsite Museum, which opened in 1980. The museum has many interesting
displays. |
Museum winter hours are Wednesday
to Sunday 10am-3pm.
